Juvéderm®

Juvéderm® is a family of injectable treatments called dermal fillers. Created from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, Juvéderm® injectables work wonders in replenishing lost volume and revitalizing the skin. Hyaluronic acid plays a vital role in maintaining skin suppleness and moisture retention, making it an ideal component for injectable treatments.

Known for its ability to deliver natural-looking and enduring results, dermal filler treatment with Juvéderm® remains a popular choice among individuals seeking facial rejuvenation. With various formulations available, tailored to specific needs and treatment areas, Juvéderm® offers options ranging from soft to more viscous gels. Thick fillers are best for restoring volume to the mid-face and sculpting the jawline or cheekbones, while softer, thinner fillers effectively smooth facial lines around the eyes or mouth.

What Can Juvéderm Treat?

Juvéderm® boasts a wide spectrum of cosmetic applications, including:

  • Cheek augmentation
  • Lip augmentation
  • Treatment of undereye bags
  • Smoothing nasolabial folds
  • Addressing marionette lines
  • Softening lip lines and smoker’s lines
  • Improving the appearance of acne scars

Similar to Restylane®, another hyaluronic acid dermal filler family, Juvéderm® treatments can be seamlessly integrated with other injectables like BOTOX® or complemented with skincare treatments such as chemical peels for optimal results. By temporarily immobilizing facial muscles, BOTOX® effectively targets fine lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions, making it an excellent complement to dermal fillers.

What Happens During Treatment?

Juvéderm® injections are quick and produce immediate results. Formulations of Juvéderm® include lidocaine, a numbing agent that enhances comfort during the injection process. Most patients can tolerate the injection process without a topical anesthetic. Following thorough cleansing of the treatment area, the product is delicately administered beneath the skin using a fine needle. Your injector will meticulously sculpt the desired outcome to ensure a naturally refreshed appearance.

Juvéderm® Recovery and Results

No downtime is required post-Juvéderm® treatment, though temporary redness and irritation at the injection sites may occur for a few hours. Discomfort, particularly following lip augmentation, can be alleviated with the application of an ice pack. While most routine activities can be resumed immediately, it’s advisable to refrain from strenuous exercise or exposure to hot environments within the first 24 hours. Gentle massage of the treated area can aid in product integration with the skin.

Initial swelling may give the appearance of being “over-filled,” gradually subsiding to reveal optimal results within two weeks. Depending on the specific Juvéderm® treatment, outcomes typically last between six months to one year.
